Maintaining the pond  

There area huge numbers of insects  in the water all of them can come by them

selves. The insects in the pond range from the familiar dragonfly to the less

familiar water scorpion  the best way to encourage dragonflies is to buy lilies as

the dragonflies love these especially to lay there eggs on. Other insects like pond

skaters and great pond beetles will go to most pond with out much

encouragement. Also you cant be to clean taking every dead tiny insect out of the

pond. this can be useful food for insects like water scorpions. Although don't let

to many dead insects get in the pond. If they are big it is best to take them out as

the will take oxygen out of the water as they rot and incourage algae
