Maintaining the pond  

marginal plants are enorously important ot the pond. These plants gives shelter

to lot of animals such as frogs. In a very large pond with lots and lots of marginal

you will get ducks nest in the marginal plant and you could even get water voles

scuttling arround. Marginal plants absorb mineral minerals from the pond which

can improve the quality of the water it is important in any pond that you have

atleast a few marginal. If you go and look at a nateral pond or a man-mad, public

pond you will see how many marginal are needed and how important they are
