IMPORTANT NOTICE
Due to decreasing numbers of members attending Club Runs, we have decided to suspend publishing a list of Sunday runs.
Please telephone Mike Graham (Secretary) for details of each Sunday's ride.
Our runs list provides details of the club cycle rides. We welcome any non-members who may wish to try riding with us, but you do need to be reasonably fit.
Many who cycle for recreation and leisure enjoy riding alone, but there is also pleasure to be gained by riding within a group. The miles pass more quickly, the distances seem less, the rain (what rain?) is less wet and you have the opportunity to air your views on the topics of the day at length.
You can choose to ride all day or just for an hour or so and then return, usually with some companions. The pace is not fast (touring, not racing speed) and stops are made at tea rooms and pubs for refreshment. As cycling burns up the calories it is advisable to carry some food and drink at all times to avoid the hunger knock (cannot be described; must be experienced).
If you are uncertain about your abilities or wish to try something less strenuous to start with, why not join our Saturday afternoon
easy rides.
We recommend that you also carry basic tools, pump and spare inner tubes especially at hedge cutting time.
All Rides start from Newark Market Place unless stated otherwise.
