Classic Dalek Variants

My original model was based mostly on the Daleks as they appeared in “The Power of the Daleks” (1966). However I have adapted this model to produce variants representing the Daleks as they appeared in several other Doctor Who adventures. The variants are listed here in chronological order of their appearance on TV.

The Daleks (1963) - This variant has no solar slats, and its dome lights, eye disks and gun are of a different design to the Power variant. The blocks that the arms stick out of are also slightly different. It comes in a single colour scheme of silver, light grey and blue.
The Dalek Invasion of Earth (1964) - This variant is basically the same as “The Daleks” variant, but has different eye disks, an enlarged base and a dish on its back. (I've put an antenna in the centre of the dish, but in fact only some of the Invasion Daleks had this; the rest just had a black circle where the antenna should have been, as though it had been put on and then removed.) In addition to the silver/grey/blue colour scheme used for “The Daleks” variant, it also comes in colour schemes representing the saucer pilot Dalek (black dome and alternate black skirt panels) and the Black Dalek. I only have black and white photographs of the Invasion Daleks to go on, so I've made some deliberately conservative guesses about the colours.

The Chase (1965) and The Daleks' Master Plan (1965/6) - This is very similar to the Power variant, but has the same gun and arm blocks as “The Daleks” variant. It comes in two colour schemes, silver/blue and black/blue.
The Power of the Daleks (1966) and The Evil of the Daleks (1967) - This is the base model. It comes in two color schemes, silver/blue and silver/blue with a black dome.

Day of the Daleks (1972) - This variant has different dome lights, a deeper base than the Power variant, an oval plate between the arms, and the wire mesh around the shoulder section has a hexagonal pattern instead of a diamond one. It comes in two colour schemes, grey/black and gold/black.
Planet of the Daleks (1973) - This variant represents the Dalek Supreme, a very strange looking Dalek that had a unique torch-like eye, a neck bin with un-tapered rings and no vertical struts and an unusually large base. It comes in a single colour scheme of yellow and black. (The other Daleks that appeared in this adventure were identical to the grey/black Day variant.)

Death to the Daleks (1974) - This basically the same as the Day variant, but the base has a protective flange around its top rim. It comes in two colour schemes, silver/black with white dome lights, and silver/black with orange dome lights. Ideally this variant should also have a different gun, as the Dalek's normal beam weapons failed and were replaced with projectile weapons for the duration of this adventure, but I don't yet have good enough pictures of the projectile weapon to be able to model it. Hopefully the adventure will come out on DVD soon and then I can correct this.
Genesis of the Daleks (1975) - This is very similar to the Death variant, but the colour scheme has reverted to grey/black (albeit a different shade of grey to the Day variant). The protective flange around the top of the base has been retained but is now black. I changed the arm blocks back to their 1963 form for this variant, but it's debatable whether or not I should have done so.
