There are balancing mechanisms in society so 50 years ago, for example, homosexuality was stigmatised and the poor folk so inclined had miserable lives. These days, homosexuality is in your face all the time - Graham Norton, Queer As Folk, George Michael etc - just a few random examples. I have no problem with the politics, ie that the old situation was wrong and is no longer acceptable. And like most people, I suspect, I have homosexual friends and I accept their lifestyle. They're adults, and what they do is up to them. It doesn't alter their fundamental status as human beings and the rights that go with it. But homosexuality is (still) a minority interest, so the prolific culture/voice that goes with it is therefore disproportionate. It has gone to the other extreme, to balance out previous prejudice and injustice.
