Born on the 19th June 1984, Jacob Norton Deuchar was to spend his entire first 21 years of life living aboard a pair of working narrowboats. He still retains memories of some of the coal-runs his family undertook till he was of school age and they shifted to selling coal from the boats at a fixed mooring.

Throughout his education, Jacob persued a multitude of interests in Scientific, Technological, IT, and Art, following subjects that encompassed many of these areas through to degree level; attaining a BA (Honours.) in Film & Video (Production)

Since leaving university Jacob has worked with Nottingham-based Band SPIRYTUS, Derby-based Band Hanzo Steel, liquidisco.com, and supplied visual materials to ITN/ITV News, The BBC, The Monster Raving Loony Party, The Fabulous FezHeads, and Black Pig Border Morris

In 2005 Jacob was recognised as suffering from Asperger Syndrome, having gone much of his life without being formally recognised as a sufferer despite displaying many prominent characteristics of the disorder.
