1.
Team registration fee is £30 per team, per season. Team fees are non-refundable.
2.
Individual player’s fee is £2.50 per season. Player fees are
non-refundable.
3.
All team and player registration fees must be paid within 7 days of the
AGM.
4.
All players must be a minimum of 14 years of age at registration.
5.
New players can be registered by 8pm on a Tuesday before a match.
6.
All registrations and transfers will cease at the halfway point of the
season.
7.
It is an offence to register under an assumed name.
8.
A player must be registered for a team to qualify for entry to any
competition.
9.
A player may not register for more that one team in a season, unless
the player has made a transfer from one team to another.
10. The league will charge a fee
of £2.50 for any player transfer.
11. A player can only play for one
team in the KO cup, Plate & 3 Person Team competitions.
12. Both the player and team
secretary must sign a player’s registration card before the player will be
allowed to play.
13. Any team found guilty of
fielding an ineligible player will forfeit the match.
14. Teams are requested to keep
their own record of match results & player averages as back up in case of a
missing match sheet and to report any discrepancies.
15. All competitions are played
to the official EPA World Rules.
16. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF
TEAM CAPTAINS / SECRETARIES TO INFORM THEIR PLAYERS OF THE MATCH DATES AND
OPPONENTS OF ANY COMPETITION THEY ENTER.
17. The competitions secretary
sets competition dates and venues and every effort must be made to play matches
as advised. However, players may play at alternative venues and/or dates –
provided ALL players agree. Matches may NOT be played after the advised
deadline time/day under any circumstances. Failure to inform the competitions
secretary of the result before the deadline will result in neither player(s)
being entered into the next round.
18. Entry fees for the individual
competitions are £2.50 per player, per competition. Competition fees must be
paid within 7 days of the competition deadline day or players may not be entered
into the competitions.
19. Any player wishing to
participate in any competitions does so on the understanding that he/she must
play in at least 50% of his/her team’s league matches within the current
season. Failure to do so may result in the player’s exclusion from all
competitions entered.
20. The deadline for ‘signing in’
at singles and pairs etc. is 10 minutes after the scheduled start time (unless
otherwise stipulated). The opponent may claim a leg at this point, further legs
can be claimed at subsequent 10 minute intervals until sufficient legs are
achieved to claim the match.
21. It is each player's (or
nominated player in pairs, 3 person team etc) responsibility to notify the
Competitions Secretary of the result of each match as soon as possible and by no
later than the deadline date stipulated on each draw. Failure to inform the
competitions secretary of the result before the deadline will result in neither
player(s) being entered into the next round.
22. In pairs matches, conferring
between shots is forbidden after either of the oncoming pair have touched the
table. Should an offence of this nature occur, the opponents shall be awarded
the standard foul (i.e. 2 shots).
23. All Individual competitions
will be best of will be best of 5 legs until at least the semi final stage. A
1-minute per shot time limit will apply at all competition semi-final and
finals matches. The competition secretary will decide mixed pairs format on the
night of the competition.
24. 3 Person Team matches are
best of 9 legs for all rounds and must be played in the order stated on the
match sheet. The 4th player named in each 3 Person Team may be used
as a substitute at any time during the game. He/She may replace ONE player only
and the match sheet MUST be clearly marked to that effect. A player substituted
may not be reinstated to the game.
25. Substitute players will be
permitted in any singles, pairs and three person team events but only before
playing any stage of the competition.
26. At the end of the season, the
player who finishes at the top of their team averages will qualify to play in a
knock out competition. If the top average player is unable to play in this
competition a place will then be offered to the second (and then the third and
so on) placed best average player in each team.
27. Draws for all individual
competitions will be available on the Calverton & Arnold Pool Website: www.cadpl.co.nr and will be posted to
secretaries upon request.
28. In the event of a protest in
any individual competition, the game must be stopped and the Competitions
Secretary informed BEFORE the results deadline, by the player making the
protest, with full details of what has happened. A committee meeting will then
be called and an outcome decided. BOTH sets of players (or team captain for 3
Person teams) MUST be present at the meeting in order to state their case. The
committee’s decision will be final.
29. A strict dress code will
apply on finals day to all players involved (i.e. No Jeans, trainers or
football shirts). Failure to abide by this will result in the player(s) not
being allowed to play.
30. Any player wishing to
participate in any individual competitions must qualify to do so by playing in
a minimum of 50% of his or her team’s League matches or the Calverton &
Arnold Interleague Team’s matches. Failure to do so may result in their
exclusion from any competition at any stage.
31. An eight ball clearance is
defined as a clearance from the break shot of all colours, as nominated by the
breaking player, in one visit. The achievement of an eight ball clearance MUST
be clearly marked on the match sheet AND signed by both teams’ secretaries.
32. All annual trophies and
shields remain the property of the league. It is the responsibility of the
player(s) to ensure all trophies are returned to the league in time and in good
condition. Any costs incurred by the league for damaged trophies may be charged
to the holder.
33. League Division One and Two
winners and runners-up may opt to receive prize money equivalent to the cost of
12 trophies per team instead of a trophy. Teams will be contacted to establish
their requirements at the end of the season
34. Trophies will be awarded to
all winners and runners-up in all team and individual competitions as well as
eight ball awards.
1.
A duly elected committee, who will decide on all protests and disputes,
shall run the league. The committee may vote and act upon any rule changes at
any time subject to the notification of all teams. The committee will stand for
re-election at the AGM at the end of each season.
2.
Any team failing to fulfil three successive league/cup fixtures will be
assumed to have withdrawn from the league and face the possibility of being
removed from the league.
3.
No league, KO cup or Plate game may be cancelled or rearranged, unless
rule 40 applies, in which case the team secretary MUST contact the league
secretary as soon as possible.
4.
The league secretary shall, on request, clarify any misunderstanding or
misinterpretations connected with the league rules.
5.
In the event of a protest, the frame and match should be stopped
immediately. The protest should be noted on the match sheet and signed by both
team secretaries. All remaining players names should be completed and those
players signed in on the match sheet. A protest fee of £5 should be sent by the
team protesting, along with the match sheet and a covering letter fully
explaining the reasons behind the protest, to the league secretary within THREE
DAYS. The league secretary will then contact the team against whom the
protest is directed. This team will then have SEVEN DAYS to provide an
answer to the allegations IN WRITING. Failure to answer to the allegations will
be deemed by the committee as ‘guilt by absence of defence’ and the protest
will be upheld. The protest fee will only be refunded if the protest is upheld.
6.
Inclement weather or compassionate circumstances. The team secretary
should ring the league secretary by 7pm on the evening of the match. The league
secretary will decide whether the match can proceed. The league secretary will
then contact all league teams concerned should matches be cancelled.
7.
Matches are to be played in a sporting manner and in accordance with
the official EPA World Rules.
8.
Players MUST have their registration card present on the night &
sign the match sheet BEFORE the leg commences. Failure to do so may result in
loss of leg or match.
9.
Should a team not have enough players on the night, the opposition may
claim each leg by signing in their player and writing ‘No Player’ on the match
sheet. Averages will not be awarded in this case.
10. Division One league matches
will consist of 12 singles legs, with up to 4 players able to play in 2 legs,
however at least one of the legs must be played in the Wildcard section of the
match (legs 5-8); a player may play 2 legs in the Wildcard section. If a team
should have only 3 players in attendance, they may play 3 singles legs and 3
Wildcard singles legs, forfeiting 6 singles legs. Division Two league matches
will consist of 7 singles legs and 2 pairs legs, with the order of SSSSSPSPS.
Players may play in a singles leg and in ONE pairs leg. If a team should have
only 4 players in attendance, they may play 4 singles legs and 2 pairs legs,
forfeiting 3 singles legs.
11. Team matches start at 8.00pm.
The opposition may claim the first leg at 8.10pm and at ten minute intervals
thereafter, until a player has signed in. If no players are signed in by
8.50pm, the match may be claimed 9-0. Once a leg has been claimed, the team
losing the leg cannot assign a player to the claimed leg, this must be left on
the match sheet as ‘No player’. Once a match has started teams are only allowed
2 periods of 10 minutes grace to sign the next player in. Once both grace
periods have been used, legs can be claimed after 5 minutes of the end of the
previous leg.
12. Division 2 teams losing their
1st knock-out cup match will automatically be entered into a ‘plate’
competition which will then be played in a knock-out format with a final played
at the presentation night at the end of the season.
13. Knockout cup and plate
competitions will be played to a best of 9 singles legs format, with up to 2
players able to play in 2 legs, however at least one of the legs must be played
in the Wildcard section of the match (legs 5 & 6); a player may play 2 legs
in the Wildcard section.
14. The team knockout cup &
plate finals will start at 7.30pm. The same rules apply as above regarding
claiming legs.
15. The winning team are
responsible for ensuring that the results secretary receives the match sheet by
no later than midday on the Saturday following the match. Winning teams may
email their match result including player names, numbers for both teams to the
league by no later than midday on the Saturday following the match but must
also ensure the original match sheet is retained until the end of the season.
16. Match sheets not RECEIVED by
the results secretary by MIDDAY on the Saturday immediately following the match
will result in the winning team not being awarded the points, however legs and
player averages will still be updated. Should a match sheet go missing, the
committee will award legs upon consultation with both team captains as to who
played and the result of each game, but the winning team will not be awarded 2
points.
17. Should a match be unresolved
on the night, both teams must sign in the remaining players for each leg not
started before leaving the venue. These players must play the concluding legs
in a re-arranged night (within seven days). Failure to comply with this rule
will mean that the match score will stand at the time it was originally halted.
The league secretary should be made aware of this situation by both teams as
soon as possible. If agreement as to the re-arrangement cannot be made, then
the committee will decide upon a date and venue of the fixture.
18. On entry to the league, a
team’s nominated captain and secretary MUST accept responsibility for the
behaviour of the players in their team. Should any team wish to divorce itself
from any individual member(s) of their team, this should be done by way of a
letter to the committee detailing the relevant circumstances.
19. Any player found guilty of
using foul and abusive language, using threatening or lewd behaviour, causing
wilful damage or creating a disturbance at any league match or league function
or causing trouble to the league in any way, will be liable to suspension or
expulsion from the league and automatic elimination from competitions. The
league also reserves the right not to award trophies or prize money to any
guilty party. No entry fees will be refunded.
20. The committee reserve the
right to alter dates, times and venues of any match at short notice.
21. Any team failing to fulfil
any away fixture will be fined £10, which will be given to the home team to
cover the cost of any food laid on for the match. Should such an offence occur,
the offending team would have fourteen days in which to pay the fine or risk
expulsion from the league.
22. The entire record of any team
withdrawing from the league will be expunged, unless the first half of the
season was completed. In which case that half will stand (One Division Format).
In a Two Division format each completed third of the season will stand.
23. Should any teams finish tied in
first or second place in the league at the end of the season with identical
records; the said teams will be separated by results against each other in the
league. If it is still not possible to separate the teams then a play-off match
will take place. The committee will decide promotion & relegation issues.
