The Video division of STOCKCAR began with the first StockCar magazine World Final video of the 1983 Coventry World Final meeting and Stu Smith's 4th Gold roof win. Annual Single camera World Final meeting videos on vhs are still available up to 1988 (£22 from the StockCar Sales Unit, £23.50 by post, dedicated DVD transfer studio under construction) before the introduction of Super-Vhs and stadium-exclusive video operations forced an evolution. SCM video began in 1990, with the superior quality of Svhs camcorders resolving viewable video from almost every BriSCA F1 venue. Onscreen race titles, results, replays music and, just in time for Bert Finnikin's Bradford World Final (available now on vhs - £22 / 23.50 by post) multiple camera race mix bought StockCar video into the realm of living room entertainment. In 1992 SCM went professional; by the end of the season Every one of our BriSCA F1 video's were produced with 2 massively heavy duty JVC professional 3ccd Svhs main cameras (with the 1990 camcorders banished to edge-of-track deathwish cam duty) and 6 cameras used in the World Final production - with on-screen lapcharts, driver profiles and guest voice-overs added post production. As with the eighties vhs tapes, it's WF92 is due for eventual digital re-release. This multicamera setup survived, was refined and flourished. F1 race video productions reached a pinnacle with dedicated race commentaries from Rob Hughes & the Season Review/ F1 year on video productions in the mid nineties. But with F1 not regaining that '92 following and the opportunity to promote original StockCar racing at Long Eaton stadium, next was downsizing, a name change and formal close of this golden era of video production. In 1997 the leaner SCA Recordings began trading from the Offices of Long Eaton Sportstadium, Long Eaton, Ng10 2du. Unfortunately the Stadium's long struggle for survival against falling incomes and rising costs ended that same year. With the 1992 dream of producing all-out StockCar television never revived, SCAr exists into the new millennium solely through doing a better job of filming a BriSCA F1 StockCar meeting than anyone else. 16:9 Widescreen video and 4 channel sound recording re-invigorated the SCAr mission framework in 2006, fully computerised post production equalled (the as yet un-equalled!) Crash Disc Zero in 2007.. and technically SCsca not only made it onto television, but onto the World's most Respected channel, prime time: BBC1's Gears and Tears show opens with the FWJ Hednesford Rollover from SCAr 2007.3, and featured our 2005-2009 video every episode. Producing StockCar Magazine comes first, but the best SCMvideo (and SCA recordings) are yet to come.. in 1080i!
