Trinity Church News
Trinity Church is a community resource for Batley Carr. The church hall was converted for use as a meeting room for a variety of clubs, activities and community activities.
Although approximately £300,000 was raised from different grants to convert the building, no money was available to improve the church itself.
So now we are launching an appeal on June 17 2000 to raise money for improvements to Trinity Church.
To launch the appeal there was a celebration of community work in Batley Carr, called Flowers for the Millennium. There were community displays and refreshments. On Sunday June 18 2000 there was be a celebration service, with speaker Canon John Holmes. This was a very successful event thanks to the team of Dewsbury Parish working in the community.
A successful auction of Thompson furniture raised £21,000 which will now give a firm base to do more work on the church.
