More than just bricks and mortar

Batley Carr tenants and residents association is trying to bring the community together by organising social activities.

In the past we have held annual multi-cultural galas, trips, old folks' annual Christmas Parties, and last year, local elected members were also present, helping out and talking to the senior citizens. We engaged a well-known club turn to provide entertainment both vocal and keyboards. We play bingo with spot prizes. This year we have already been to Knaresborough on an evening trip for local people. These costs are paid for out of the tenants and residents association social fund.

We are now looking at future trips for the rest of the year and, of course, a bigger and better senior citizens party.
