Where is Batley Carr

Batley Carr is an estate in Batley, West Yorkshire, about eight miles from Leeds. It is a council estate in the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees.

Batley used to be a thriving industrial town - the headquarters for many woollen manufacturers. As Cliff Whiteley, chair of Kirklees Tenants Federation, often used to joke - unemployment and housing decay have made it a one-horse town.

But now Batley Carr tenants and residents association , along with the other tenants associations in the Batley area, are putting it back on the map! And we are participating in all council decisions about our area.
