This month has started off with more rain and then a coldish spell with some snow. As noted last month the footpath collapse of December has meant that the water level is low but the fish are still there! You can still fish but don't go near the weir which is being fixed soon
Now the carp fishing tactics...
Carp (and Tench) have been caught in February despite the heavy weed and the following tactics have proved successful:
1. Maggots (swim feeder)
2. Sweetcorn (legered)
3. Boilies on a hair-rig
Although it's still mild, you should wrap up well and bring a hot thermos flask and/or self heating soup.
