Budgerigars
The
Home Page of John W. Evans, Clearwing Breeder

I have bred Clearwing Budgerigars (Whitewings and Yellow-wings) exclusively for more than twenty years, and have written about them in various journals. The purchase of a digital camera, my involvement with computing and the contribution to budgerigars on the web made by Dolores Noonan have together stimulated me into trying my hand at web authorship.
It is my intention to write and publish articles on Clearwings, lavishly(?) illustrated with pictures.
I will also gladly publish or link to Clearwing articles written by anyone else.
The first article is one entitled Breeding Violet Whitewings written by me and recently published in four parts in Budgerigar World, but with the addition of more pictures to illustrate the points made and discussed in the article. This has turned out to be more comprehensive than I had originally planned and is turning into a guide to breeding Clearwings in general. I update the pictures and add more as they become available.
Below is a recent picture taken in my outside
flight in one of the first nice days of 2001
(we had to wait until May this
year)! Click on it for a better view.
Below is closer shot (June 2000)

Please visit the site regularly or bookmark it for updates as I will be working away at more text and pictures for some time to come.
You can mail me (see "LINKS") and I will reply if required, but please!
- no requests for medical, health etc. advice (I am not a vet)
and no questions about pets.
