The shy and unsure Tara met Willow at a Wicca meeting and the two hit it off because they a shared common interests like witchcraft and spells. Because Oz left Sunnydale Willow was free to explore some new interests.
Tara is the daughter of a very powerful witch who died when she was just a child.
Tara was also told she would transform into a demon when she became a woman. She was told this by her family and it was found out to be a lie that was made up by the men to keep the woman in check.
When the group found out about Willow and Tara she was welcomed into the group.
Oz returned to Sunnydale but Willow has found a new love.
Tara also was 'brain-sucked' by Glory, the hell-god, but Willow performed a spell that got her back to usual.
Now Tara is upset that Willow is using too much magic and they have broken up.
Tara is still friends with Buffy and is starting to talk to Willow again.
She and Willow start flirting at Xander and Anya's wedding. They soon get back together again until Tara is killed by Trio leader, Warren.
Her death is the cause for Willow's return to magic
.....which fortunately ends just before the end of the world!
