Today saw the launch of the official website of the soon-to-come-into-existence Kettering Liberal Democrat Youth & Students, which will be the latest branch of the Liberal Democrat Youth & Students (LDYS) which is a completely autonomous wing of the Liberal Democrats, the party of the future.
This does not mean that we will have a constitution immediately, indeed we will operate without a constitution until such a time that we have enough members to warrant such a measure, though the creator of this website is conferring with LDYS members in other parts of the East Midlands as well as above at LDYS East Midlands and LDYS England and Wales.
We will eventually be able work with the Kettering branch of the Liberal Democrats and other branches of the LDYS in ensuring that as many Liberal Democrat representatives are elected as possible. The LDYS in other areas has in the past been a vital contributor to the success of Liberal Democrat campaigns, in virtually all forms of election, and we will continue to do that so that the Liberal Democrats can become a strong and fair government for the people of the UK.
Also, due to administrative errors and the current workload on those higher up in LDYS, with the after-effects of the General Election still fading, Freshers Fairs in universities and the party conference, we do not know the full number of LDYS members in the Kettering constituency. So, if you are 26 or under (or are in full time higher education) and you live in the Kettering constituency, please do not hesitate in contacting us (click on 'Contact Us') so we can confirm your LDYS status.
