| SUBSCRIPTION |
£25 per annum and £12.50 for students. Payment is due on 1st
July, to be paid to the Treasurer either in full or in multiples of £5 before 30th
June of the preceding year. |
| REHEARSALS |
Every Tuesday, 8.00 - 9.30pm at Edlesborough Methodist
Chapel, with the exception of the Tuesday after Easter Monday. The July/August rehearsals
depend entirely on the holiday arrangements of members.
PLEASE NOTE
The Tuesday following each concert is scheduled for a meeting – the summer one is a
social event and the one in December is the Christmas Dinner where partners are most
welcome. After the Christmas Dinner we have our only break, returning on the Tuesday of
the SECOND FULL WEEK in January. We have 2 extra rehearsals, each on the Thursday
immediately prior to the concerts, held at the concert venue which is normally Whipsnade
Parish Church. |
| CONCERTS |
We have 2 concerts per year – usually the 2nd
Saturday in June and the 1st Saturday in December (2002 is to be held on
November 30th). |
| CONCERT DRESS - This must be strictly
adhered to |
| MEN |
Dinner jacket (and trousers), white shirt, black bow tie. |
| LADIES |
Long black skirt and white long-sleeved blouse. |

Cummerbunds will be provided – blue for summer and red
for Christmas. |
| MUSIC |
Sometimes we perform an entire work and it is necessary to
ask members to purchase their own copy, at a discounted price, through the Musical
Director. However, we hope to be able to purchase some for the society in order to avoid
all members of a family having to purchase a copy each. |
| ABSENCES |
Obviously illness, holidays and work cannot be helped when
they occur on a Tuesday, but it is requested that everyone phone Liz if they know they
will be missing for a rehearsal, or tell her at the preceding rehearsal.
Rehearsals are planned, and if key members are going to be away then it is possible to
re-plan that evening so that time is not wasted. |
