The Reds
Marktree
2006 Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz (Oz)
This warm,
smooth and spicy Aussie red is unashamedly
easy to drink and
complements most hearty foods - or is just as good solo.
Bella
Modella – Nero D’Avola 2006 (Italia)
A succulent,
lusty red to be appreciated for its robustspice and bramble
character.
Juan Gil 2006 (Spain)
Deep cherry
red in colour with complex aromas of ripened fruits and hints of
oak (aged in American and oak barrels), full-bodied and richly-flavoured
with excellent balance and a long, spicy finish.
Tabali
Pinot Noir 2007 (Chile)
Lovely soft,
red berry fruits but with a full, lush slight chocolate/vanilla
body and pleasing long finish. This wine is supple enough to be
enjoyed on its own but will match well with all but our most
powerful dishes.
The Whites
Claude Val Blanc 2007 (Vin
de Pays d’Oc)
A perfect
balance between Old and New World styles, this is a vibrantly
fruity, fresh and well-balanced wine with tropical fruit &
acacia honey on the nose & palate.
Bella
Modella - Pinot Grigio 2007 (Italia)
A beautifully
light, vibrant white to be appreciated for its zesty, citrus
character and refreshing quality.
J. Bouchon
- Chardonnay 2007 (Chile)
This Chilean
chardonnay is fresh with a full-bodied style, crammed with
tropical fruits and a hint of caramel.
Crowded
House Sauvignon Blanc 2007 (NZ)
The warm dry
season of 2007 has allowed a broader spectrum of fruit flavours
ranging from typical Marlborough grassiness to tropical passion
fruit and nectarine. The result is a beautifully balanced wine
with fruit-derived fleshiness upfront and a clean fresh
finish.
The Cava/Champagne/Prosecco:
Prosecco:
De Bertiol (Italia)
Delightful,
light vibrant fizz, subtle sherbet fruit then leads to a fresh
dry finish.
Champagne: J M Gremillet
Brut (NV)
This champagne
shows fine mousse in the glass and fresh floral aromas mixed
with characteristic toasty yeast over- tones. Light and fresh on
the palate with green apples balanced by a slight richness and a
crisp citrus finish.
The Rosé:
J. Bouchon
-Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé 2007
Produced in Chile's Maule Valley, this is a wonderful light rosé
with a candy nose, refreshing red berry fruit and delightful
well-balanced acidity. Julio Bouchon’sFrench style with South
American panache is a big hit this summer.
