20/04/06 - Hello, my how time flys..... it's April already and we're right close to the next quench event, last month (March 25th) we had a great time, Andy Smith from Regenerate came along with a few guys and shared some amazing stories of what God has been doing with them, and then on the Sunday we took the band on the road all the way to Howell hill, (about 10 mins drive from home) to their "Reality" event and we had a massive night, the worship was powerful and the band went down a storm, not to mention the guys there really engageing with God...we had a great night and are looking forward to visiting there again, thanks for having us Reality! It really feels like there is a momentum building amongst young people, their passion for God is growing and it's a real privalege to be part of it! We just wanna get out more and see more...c'mon.
17/02/06 - Ok, so where were we? 26/11/05 -
Christmas is coming the goose is getting fat.....so November is coming
to an end, we've had a busy month with a week in Blenheim High School
and then Quench on the 19th it was all go. The Blenheim week was good
fun, we had some great discussions with the year 10 + 11's, and really
enjoyed the welcome we had from all the teachers. Here's an excerpt
from one of the yr 10's who dropped me an e-mail after her lesson....
"I think that the question and answer thing you’ve been doing with the RS classes are absolutely fab. The way you answer the questions and the whole atmosphere you create in those classrooms is great. You put across what I believe in such a great way and now I feel confident that whatever I say from now on is not going to be clouded over by misconceptions and misunderstandings about who and what Christians actually are. I love that song that you put on at the end by Delirious? (and not just because we sang it at Soul Survivor) and I knew that God did some great work in that classroom. I was sitting in the library after school and this girl came and sat down next to me. She asked me if I knew that band. I said, “Yeah, they come to my church and do a gig once a month.” A few minutes later passed by in silence and then out came the question, “So, you do go to church every Sunday?” I answered, “Yes.” I knew that some interesting conversation was going to come out of me saying that so I quietly breathed a prayer under my breath, praying that God would give me the right words to say. She said, “I think I might start going to church now because of my dancing. Everything was going wrong and all the girls had sore throats. This lady came up to us and asked us if we wanted to pray. She prayed for us and every night that we prayed, it went perfectly and the one night we didn't pray, everything went all wrong. So I think I'm going to start coming to church.” I invited her along to my church, she asked her mum and she’s coming on Sunday! Without you guys coming in, I doubt that the conversation would’ve even started, let along her come to my church on Sunday. Also, I was lining up outside Physics when this one guy asked whether I thought that you’d seen any miracles. I replied, “Yeah, I'm sure they have. I’ve seen some miracles.” And so I was able to reel off a list of miracles that I’d seen and they were definitely impressed! You’ve definitely planted some seeds and you’ve given me the confidence to nurture those plants. Thank you so much."
How cool is that?..... So what next? we've got quench on the 17th of December and then into the new year, things will be pretty chilled as Jason and his wife Dawn are expecting their second baby, mid Jan. That's not to say it's all quiet, there's a whole load of new publicity to get sorted photos and all, we're praying for a new van and obviously 2006 to plan, quench will be running like normal, so we'll see you there, so till next time...
