Melbourne Australia
Our holiday in Melbourne 2007
was a memorable one, we spent a
special Christmas with family and friends, we visited many of
Melbourne's attractions, we spent
lazy days exploring
St
Kilda's Acland Street and the Promenade. But most
of all we enjoyed our visits to the fabulous
City and soaking
up the sun on St Kilda's fantastic beach.

When we visited
Melbourne for the 1st time we
could not fail to notice
the
Eureka Tower situated on the South Bank of the rive
r
Yarra. It is
297Mts high and is the 2nd tallest building in Australia, it towers
above the other buildings in the City.
We went to the top of the tower and found the view of the
City just fascinating, it give us a good feeling for our
bearings on our forthcoming visits to the City.

Our
visit to Old
Melbourne Gaol was awesome we had never been to a prison
before and didn't know what to expect, we cou
ld only
marvel at the small size of the cells, the thickness of the walls ,the
doors and the creepy atmosphere that existed.
We learned that the first
cell block opened in 1845 and closed in1924, during
this time135 prisoners was hanged
including the Gaols
most famous prisoner Ned Kelly the bush murderer.

would expect all species of Australian wildlife was there to
see.. The park also featured" Birds of Prey displays" and
included instruction on how to throw a boomerang.

had a special day out on
the Puffing Billy
Steam Train, we traveled from Melbourne to
Castlemain

journey through the bush to Maldon, here we enjoyed a

high.
