This picture above shows her wedding to James Barnes (in Army Farrier's uniform) and was taken outside the Red Lion Public House, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire on 25th May, 1912, after their marriage in St Mary's Church.

This is James Barnes with his young family at an Army Camp somewhere in England.
It could be at the Remount, off Welby Lane in Melton Mowbray.

James Barnes was born in Wymondham, Norfolk. He was a regular army soldier.
As a Shoeing Smith in the Royal Horse and Field Artillery he had an important job during the First World War. Besides shoeing horses, he was also responsible for the physical care of them.
His discharge papers show he was discharged due to an injury, but it is not known how he sustained this.
The records show his military character to be 'Very Good' and he was 'Steady, sober and industrious.'
James died in Loughborough on 26th February 1919. Cause of death 'angina pectoris.'
