40th Anniversary of Moon Landing - BBC @ Goonhilly

BBC News ran a report this morning from Goonhilly in Cornwall featuring 'Arthur'. 40 years ago today, The Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station, owned by British Telecom, relayed pictures of the moon landing to television screens all across the country. The BBC had a live OB for its Breakfast show on via Intelsat 801 throughout the morning.

The 2009 Glastonbury Festival takes place this weekend and the official website reveals the full line-up.
IS-801 has two feed offerings, a SCPC feed and a two channel Minimux via the UKI-1093 and UKI-307 units from SiSLive OBs. Looks like a HD production unit was hired too from Arena. No sign of a HD feed but likely to be active tomorrow.

The BBCs flagship nature show Springwatch makes a welcome return using Intelsat 10-02 for all their satellite links. Up to four digital feeds were active during the evenings for the duration of Springwatch. The feeds being the main feed from Norfolk, Remote feed from Wales and two live cams.

BBC presenters Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross have been suspended by the BBC following the row over their prank phone calls to Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs on BBC Radio 2
This news created a flurry of media interest after it hit the news Tuesday. Sky were active most of the day with feeds using the inclined T2D bird.
