The Channel Tunnel is closed after the fire broke out on Thursday afternoon. Fire fighters are still tackling the blaze. 6 people suffered minor injuries after inhaling smoke from the blaze, which started on a lorry on board a freight train travelling from Folkestone to Calais.

Dozens of dolphins have died in a series of mass strandings on the UK's south coast. Rescuers in southwest England are desperately trying to save dozens of the creatures after at least 22 dolphins beached themselves and died along the Cornish coast.

A rare catch, an uplink from the BBC Training & Development Centre in Wood Norton. I believe this to be training by the BBC to provide practical experience on planning, setting up and operating a typical SNG uplink station. This feed pops up every so often and only ever displays a test card and lasts about 10 minutes.

Scotland vs. England from Murrayfield Stadium. The match will be the first ever live screening of an international sport shown in 3D HD. The 3D rugby was captured by three camera rigs, and then transmitted via satellite to the BBCs Riverside studio in London and then shown on a big screen. Viewers will have to wear stereoscopic glasses to see the 3D effect. The technique, which is still under development, involves bouncing dual HD signals around and re-encoding them as a 3D experience.
