Late Late Show: Celebs on Ice - RTE Special

Friday night and on IS-907 there was an outside broadcast for the Late Late show. The finals of the Celebs on Ice taking place at the 7Up Christmas on Ice at the RDS. Four celebrities take to the ice for charity in a quest of being crowned this year's champion. During rehearsals, canned cheering could be heard being queued up! Maybe not quite the big turnout they'd hoped for...

Asgard II sinks off French coast - RTE OB

The sail training vessel Asgard II has sunk 20 miles off the coast of France in the Bay of Biscay. The ship was lost at 8.25am local time (7.25am Irish time) 20 nautical miles from the French coast, southwest of Belle-Île-en-Mer. The five crew and 20 trainees, most of them Irish, took to the ship's life-rafts.

Irish Businessman Frank McBrearty Awarded €2.5m Damages

Frank McBrearty senior has been awarded almost €2.5m by the High Court in respect of damage suffered by his business as a result of garda harassment following the death of Richie Barron.
Mr McBrearty's company had initially submitted a claim for €7.2m.
