Starting the Wizard

Run the Genesis Wizard and click Next on the first screen.   Select "Use a modem (analogue/ISDN) to dialup a provider" and click Next.

Select the modem

If you have already set up a modem you will be asked if you want to reuse it.   Click reuse, and skip to Step 5.

Otherwise, enter the details of your serial device, choose your modem from the list, and click Next.

Modem Settings

On the next screen, check that the init string is correct, and that the Dial Prefix is ADTD.   Click Next.

Authentication Settings

Enter the username/password and ISP dialup number; if you are unsure of this information, contact your ISP.   Click Next.

PPP Settings

The protocol you will need to use is PPP and select "no, go online immediately" in the login script section.   Click Next.

Connecting

On the next screen, click Dial and Genesis will dial and get the information it needs to set up your connection.

Setting your default connection

On the last screen, click Finish.   When you next load Genesis, your new connection will be at the bottom of the list of ISPs.   To make it the default, drag it to the top of the list in the Interfaces section of GenesisPrefs.
