1. Open your image and if it still has layers merge them.

2. Go to ImageImage size and change the resolution to 72 pixels per inch. It is important that you change the resolution first because if you change it after changing the width etc you could end up with a very small file size that Ray cannot enlarge successfully.

3. Make sure Constrain Proportions is ticked.

4.If your image is a horizontal (landscape) change the width to 1024 pixels and let the height look after itself.

5. If your image is a vertical (Portrait) change the height to 768 pixels and let the width look after itself.

The important thing is that the image is no bigger than 1024 pixels wide by 768 pixels high.

6. Finally Save As a JPEG medium file (quality 5 or 6) giving it the title you want to appear in the competition.

You are now ready to save it to disc or send it by e-mail to Ray.

I hope this is useful. Please try and do this as it makes Ray’s job much longer if he has to spend time changing image sizes.

Sid’s Tips
On occasions when you drag one image into another it appears to change size.
To avoid this, get a preview of the size it will become, zoom in or out of the image until the percentage you can see in the left hand bottom corner box matches that of the image you will be dragging it into.
