This isn't nintendo or game related but it's still pretty cool in a weird WTF japanese kind of way. Unless you know what it's based on it may not mean anything to you, but let me explain.

In japan there is a certain type of snack food called Takoyaki these are basicaly dumplings with a tiny piece of octopus inside, they are made in a special cooking tin to get their round apperance. This game recreates all the fun of making them (well sort of).

Here are a couple of scans of the front & back of the box.

Right now onto the game, One person sets the thing off by pressing down the octopus on the top of the game and then each player takes it in turn to try to get the takoyaki out with a skewer, this is made more difficult by the bloody things jiggling about in the cooking tin however there is a random timer in operation when the timer runs out it fires the rest of the remaining takoyaki into the air. The winner is the person with the most takoyaki in their basket before the timer goes off.

Also bonus points can be obtained if you crack a takoyaki open and it contains a octopus tentacle, 2 extra points for a brown or red one.

Well that's about it, all i can say is it's a lot of fun to play, here are a few more pics (^_^)

Not quite sure why that octopus is so happy when all his friends & relatives are cooked inside those dumplings all around him.
