Title: Dance Dance Revolution: Disney Dancing Museum
Genre: Rhythm Game
Players: 1-2
Peripherals Supported: Rumble Pak, Konami Disney Dance Mat

This was Konami's first & only attempt at bringing the dance dance revolution series to a nintendo home console and sadly they wasted the opportunity by releasing a dumbed down version of DDR.

While not a bad game its is very apparent that the game is aimed at the very young who have never played a DDR game in their lives. If you are a regular player of the playstation DDR series of games you will just find all the songs in this version far too easy as even on the hard difficulty setting they represent no challenge at all.

The graphics are really nice and colourful and are a mixture of 2D characters dancing in 3D backgrounds making a interesting contrast, all the usual Disney gang are in here mickey, donald, pluto etc. and they are animated well.

The songs are pretty good in this version and are the usual mix of Disney stuff (Electric parade, Mickey mouse march, Its a small world) there are 22 songs in total and 11 of those are secret songs that are unlockable. To unlock the secret songs you need to fill in the jigsaw pieces in the empty cd cases to make the songs available.

To do this you will need to find the song that has the missing jigsaw pieces, as you play instead of arrows appearing a jigsaw piece will appear instead, if you step on these jigsaw arrow pieces correctly they will fill in the spaces in the empty cd cases when the image is complete the song will then become available.

For those who have never played DDR game before I will explain how it works. First of all this game is designed to be played using your feet. There is a special dance mat available for this game that has 4 arrows on it. The game can also be played with the standard N64 controller but it isn't nearly as much fun.

On the top left hand side of the screen is the outline of four arrows (Left, up, down, right) now as the song is playing arrows will slowly scroll up from the bottom of the screen towards the outlines at the top. Now when the arrow is directly over the outline you press the corresponding direction on the dance mat using your feet. If you stepped correctly the energy bar will increase but if you miss the step then it will decrease, if you bar totally empties then the game ends.

There are the usual modes like single player and 2 player vs mode but there is also a new mode in this version of DDR called session mode that's pretty cool, you use both the dance mat and the N64 controller at the same time (you can also just use the N64 controller as well). In session mode the arrows appear as normal and you use the dance mat, but on the right hand side of the screen are some more arrows which when you press them make accompanying sound effects for the song like drums and stuff and you press these arrows using the N64 controller.

To be honest I can only recommend this game to either die hard DDR fans or someone who has never played DDR before and wants to start on something easier. Its a pretty hard to find game nowdays and the official dance mat is expensive & even harder to find.
