The Will of Thomas PARRY, proved 13 June 1800

In the Name of God Amen I Thomas PARRY of the township of Llanveynoe in the parish of Clodock in the County of Hereford Being sick and weak in body yet of good sound mind memory & understanding Therefore do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following; that is to say, First and principally I commit my body to the earth to be Buried according to the discression of my executrix hereafter named and my soul into the Hands of my creator And in regard to such worldly estate wherewith the Lord was pleased to bless me in this life I devise give and bequeath as followeth; First I devise give and bequeath All that my Freehold Estate Cottages or Tenements with the Lands and appurtenances thereunto belonging commonly known or called by the name of Quarter yskru in the parish of Crickeaden (alias Crickadarn) in the county of Brecon South Wales now in the occupation of John DAVIES as tenant thereof to Mary my well beloved wife for and during the term of her natural life with all and singular the rents issues and profits of the said premises to have hold and enjoy as above mentioned; And from and immediately after the decease of the said Mary my well beloved wife I devise give and bequeath All and singular my aforesaid Freehold Estate Cottages or Tenements with all the Lands thereunto belonging to Thomas PARRY my son his heirs and assigns for ever subject and liable nevertheless to the payment of the sums of money herein and hereafter by me mentioned and bequeathed as followeth, I give and bequeath to Gwenny (alias Winfered) my eldest daughter the sum of Ten Pounds Also I give and bequeath to Margaret my second daughter the like sum of Ten Pounds Also I give and bequeath to Mary my third daughter the like sum of Ten Pounds to be paid to each of them respectively by my said son Thomas PARRY as soon as each of them shall or may arrive or attain to the age of one and twenty years to wit the said sum of Ten Pounds to the said Gwenny (alias Winfered) my daughter as soon as she shall arrive or attain to the age of one and twenty years And the said sum of Ten Pounds to the said Margaret my daughter as soon as she shall arrive or attain to the age of one and twenty years And the said sum of Ten Pounds to the said Mary my daughter as soon as she shall arrive or attain to the age of one and twenty years Or as soon as he the said Thomas PARRY my son shall (after the Decease of the said Mary my well beloved wife) inherit and possess my aforesaid Estate Cottages or Tenements with the Lands and appurtenances thereunto belonging; Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint the said Mary my well beloved wife to be sole executrix of this my Will giveing and bequeathing to her freely to possess and enjoy all the remaining part of my Money Securities for Money and all other my personal estate whatsoever which I now have or may have at the time of my decease Revokeing Dis(annu)ling and makeing void all former will or wills by me heretofore made and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this eleventh Day of January in the year of our Lord JCt. One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety six.

A true inventory of all the Goods Cattle & Chattels of Thomas PARRY of the Township of Llanveynoe in the parish of Clodock in the County of Hereford lately deceased taken valued and appraised by Thos. WATKINS and Jn. GILBERT this 24th day of March 1800 as followeth.

The original transcription of this Will & inventory was carried out by Norman Parry.
From the mention of 'Quarter Yskru', this Thomas would appear to be the brother of Henry PARRY whose Will was proved 27 April 1792 (Abstract).
