Parry Census Index

As part of my study into the Parry families, I am trying to collect all census entries for the name. However, because of space restrictions, I will be unable to show all of these items on the web site. Here, therefore, the concentration is on those from my main research area, (Breconshire, Herefordshire and Monmouthshire, plus some of the adjoining counties), along with any strays* from the three counties who have been found elsewhere.

I do have the details for all Parrys from the LDS 1881 cdroms, as well as the index details for all those transcribed as "Parry" in the 1901 census so, if you think I might be able to help you to identify your own family, please contact me. If anyone has the full details for Parrys from the 1901 census, or information concerning Parrys from any other censuses not shown here, I would be grateful to receive a copy. My aim is to build up a database of all Parry references in order to help future researchers.

Please note

the details might not be complete for any given census or county.
parishes from one county, which were included within a different county for census purposes, have usually been left within that second county. Eventually I hope to produce a more detailed listing of which districts, parishes etc, are included where (see below with regard to the 1901 for BRE, HEF & MON).
Strays from the three counties who are in one of the other counties listed here appear under that county, not under the strays listings.

Notes with regard to the 1901 census

The majority of the 1901 census entries have been extracted from the PRO's census site and therefore do not included the full details. Although "families" have been grouped using the pageID and personID, it is important that the original entries are examined in order to confirm any relationships, since these might not be as expected from the listings.
The "Strays" may not yet be a complete listing, since the spellings of birthplaces in the census do not always enable clear identification to be made.
Parishes in the three counties of Breconshire, Herefordshire and Monmouthshire, which had Parrys in them in 1901, have been listed here, along with their approximate piece numbers, as an aid to anyone trying to obtain the full details from the fiche versions.

*Strays - the definition of a 'stray' is generally someone born in one county, who then appears in another county. For the purposes of my listings, this definition is extended to include descendants of such strays, even though such descendants might have been born in the place where the family is now living.
