‘Eutokia’ is a Greek word meaning happy childbirth. I have given this name to my way of applying the AT to pregnancy and childbirth.
I have co-authored a book, edited an e-book and written articles on this subject. To see the list of my publications — some of which, including the e-book, can be downloaded — click on ‘Publications’ in the Navigation bar.
From 1980 to 1996 I conducted many antenatal classes and was an Advanced Teacher and Assessor for the National Childbirth Trust. Since 1985 I have been running my eutokia classes for pregnant women.
I am a founding
member
of Doula UK. ‘Doula’ is a Greek word whose original meaning
is
servant-woman but is used in English to mean woman who
assists another woman during labour and provides support to her, the
infant, and the family after childbirth. Doula UK is a network of
doulas run voluntarily by doulas. To find out more about this network, go
to its website by clicking on the Doula UK logo.
I regularly conduct workshops, seminars, presentations etc. on eutokia, in the UK and abroad, for AT teachers as well as for midwives, ante-natal teachers and doctors.
