| You haven't seen a Jem like this in the catalogs. Allegedly made for Steve Vai, this jewel is a composite of three individual Ibanez Jems: the neck and body are from the Desert Yellow 777 model; the Loch Ness Monster Green pick-ups (DiMarzio) are from a black Jem and the tortoise-shell pickguard is from the all white, Alder bodied Jem that Vai started promoting around the Sex & Religion album. Steve played it at an Ibanez expo in the UK, where it was given away to somebody in the crowd as part of a competition. |
