Leicestershire and Rutland Election Results 1995-1999

All Local, Parliamentary and European Election results May 1995 to May 1997. Also includes the 1999 Leicester City Council Election results. I am in the process of adding this information to a database to enable me to update the presentation of the results. I will then add post-1997 election results to the database.

Analysis of Votes in the Houses of Parliament

I have authored some software in C++ to produce an analysis of various votes by MPs and Peers in Parliament. It's can be revealing to see how many members from each party vote and how they vote on crucial or notable issues. The software produces a matrix of the number and percentage of MPs/Peers from each party voting yes, no or abstaining. It is also lists how each MP/Peer voted, ordered by party.

To request an analysis of a particular Division, email me at politics@ikr2.cix.co.uk with the date, House (Commons or Lords) and topic of the Division and I'll get back to you..

Here are the Divisions that I have processed so far (2 tellers for each lobby are added to the Aye and No totals in Hansard):

Commons:

Lords:

  • 19/3/02 Hunting with Dogs (Ban) Division 1
  • 19/3/02 Hunting with Dogs (Regulation) Division 2
  • 09/10/02 Nationality, Immigration and Asylum (Rural accommodation centres for asylum seekers) Division 1
  • 09/10/02 Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Bill (Separate schooling for children of asylum seekers) Division 2
  • 10/10/02 Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Bill (Deportation of asylum seekers with prison sentences) Division 2
  • 16/10/02 Adoption & Children Bill (Maintaining the ban on Adoption by Homosexual or Unmarried Couples) Division 1
  • 08/03/04 Constitutional Reform Bill Division 1

Liberalism

I have been a member of the Liberal Democrats since 1991. Here are various articles by myself and others on issues I feel strongly about. This does not imply that these views are necessarily those of the Liberal Democrats. Often they are not! If you want to check current Lib Dem policies visit www.libdems.org.uk

.....Further articles will appear here soon
