Middlesex La La La

I am a Middlesex fan, partly because my nan lives near Lords, partly because I was born in London, but mostly because the Middlesex spinners Emburey and Edmonds were their pomp when I first got into cricket in the 1980s.

Phil Tufnell (right) carried on the spinning tradition at Lords complimented by a "unique" batting pedigree. Now he is retired, Middlesex are looking for the next tweaker to carry the banner. And England are crying out for some turn and bounce.

But you live in Leicester...?

I do get to Grace Road from time and there were some great 20/20 matches this summer. But Middlesex are the team for me.

What about England?

I try to go to at least 1 Test each summer. I went to my first one day international on 29th May 1989 at Lords to see England lose to the Aussies. Since then I've seen Tests or ODIs at Edgbaston, Trent Bridge and Headingley.
