We had been looking for a Dalmatian for nearly 12 months when we rang the now late Gerry Gregory, who told us of a litter due by her daughter’s beautiful Bod. It wasn’t until later we found out the litter was in Cornwall !!!
We have to thank both Bob & Gerry Gregory, and Margaret Crisp, who bred her, for all the help they gave us as novice owners.
Deefa was always a star. When she did something she knew she shouldn’t she would just smile at us, as if to say, you won’t tell me off now !! Her temperament was bomb proof, so much so that at a show in Bolton, when an artillery display started, during our class, she didn’t even flinch.
In the ring she did quite well as a puppy with many firsts at open shows. Her best results were:
Shaw, Crompton & Royton (O) 25/02/89
1st P, 1st J, BPIB & RBOB under Mr. Terry Thorn
NEDC (O) 26/03/89>
3rd JB, res. Nov.B under Mrs. K. Kean
NEDC (CH) 07/10/89
>3rd Tyro B under Mr. L Cutts
Unfortunately she never really filled out and although she had beautiful balance she lacked the bone required for the ring. However, We, and everyone who met her, loved her. Her temperament was everything a Dally should be !! We will always miss her :-( but she will be remembered, at least by us, through our kennel name.
