This layout has now been sold. However we will keep details here for posterity. Hapford is a station on the Western Region of British Rail, set in the late 1960's, early 1970's. It is on a line linking the Western Region with the London Midland Region in the outer suburbs of London. The two reasons for the line remaining open are mainly its use as a link between the two Regions and also the amount of local sidings on the line. Hapford is typical of this, with a small yard and a private siding with warehouse facilities. It should be noted that Hapford is the only passing point on the single-track line. A D.M.U. shuttle provides the local passenger service, from Paddington (except rush hour) to Harrow & Wealdstone via Greenford. Locomotives to be seen on the line include classes 03, 04, 08, 14, 20, 22, 25, 31, 33, 35 & 37 and a couple of industrial shunters. The canal is a branch off of the Grand Union Canal and once served several warehouses near the line at Hapford.
