Wining and pining at sixth form, and my first summer festival.

“Rupert Bear”-style rhyming couplets accompany the comics

Wishes of Dishes: The serial

Not really called “Wishes of Dishes”, my serial is as yet untitled. It should take about five or six issues of Dishes to complete, at which point I will revise and reformat the whole thing into a collected volume

I am still learning how to tell a longer story well so this is in the nature of a first draft. It’s well worth getting as the collected version will no doubt be very different, and perhaps lack a lot of the stumbling bumbling first-flush-of-creativity charm of the serialisation.

The book will, if all goes to plan, have square pages, which may explain some of the peculiarities you see in these issues’ layouts.

The novel covers the years 1995-8, charting my progress from wide eyed
dreamy yokel to the rueful
mystery you see today.
