Universal Law?
Every now and then the concept of
universal law or the 'rule of three' crops up in conversation, and from what
I can glean from those I've spoken with, it relates to the understanding
that when questioning a guide or 'angel' and asking them if they are from or
of the light, that they must answer truthfully after three times of asking.
I've yet to gain any explanation as to what would compel a spirit to answer
truthfully if they were intent on deception, so I'm somewhat concerned that
people might accept a guide as being genuine on the basis of some nebulous
'law,' instead of honing their abilities in using the discernment of their
own reason and senses.
So far I've been unable to find anything
covering this on the net, though if anyone reading this knows of anything
I'd be grateful if you could point me in the right direction, I'd also like
to hear other opinions on this and where it comes from.
It looks to be a new-age concept as so far as I'm aware it has no basis in
Spiritualist philosophy, which I find interesting considering the 'law' is
supposed to be universal, and if so then wouldn't it have been made known
during the many thousands of communications between knowledge hungry mediums
and their guides? wouldn't it have become part of Spiritualist belief?
Presently, to my mind it appears a naive
and erroneous belief at best, and at worst one which could lead people to
accept a bogus guide, and this is where I have some concern regarding
various workshops which are available to help those wanting to meet their
guides or angels. As those running the workshops might have the capability
to instruct people in gaining an awareness of spirit, but nowhere near the
time and effort needed to teach control and discernment.
In effect they can be seen as dabbling in something which has the potential
for unfortunate consequences, particularly regarding those attending who
have no background of having been taught properly in such basics as
protection, discernment and control.
Call me what you will, but some of the work I do is picking up the pieces of those who didn't get sound instruction or guidance, and who formed an unfortunate association with spirit who didn't have their best interests at heart, and who were most definitely not a guide or angel...
