Door sounds
Let's put sound in for doors. First you are going to need some sound samples. I have included two sounds below for you to download (right click each link and choose "Save target as ..."). Save them to your hard drive and please remember where you save them. It is important.
Now, from within MUSH client go to the triggers section. It should be a button at the top that looks like a set of lines. One of the lines is yellow and has an arrow pointing to it. If you can't see it then press Ctrl+Shift+8 which will also take you there.
Make sure "Enable triggers" and "Enable trigger sounds" are both ticked.
Now click the "Add" button to add a trigger.
Ensure that you tick both "Enabled" and "Ignore case" in the new dialog. Most of the other options we can ignore. We will need to define the trigger conditions though.
In the box labled "Trigger" type "*open*door*" (without the quotes). The asterisks are wild cards, so this will match any sentence that contains these elements. In this way the trigger will work for both opening doors yourself and for when other people open them.
Under the heading of "sound", lower down in the window, click browse. Now select the sound for door opening that you downloaded earlier. You may also want to click the "Test" button.
Now click "Ok" to close the window and click "Save" on the main trigger window. I advise saving to the default location.
Repeat the above steps to get the door closing sound added in too. The only changes will be the trigger phrase which you set to "*close*door*" and the sound file which you browse for (which should be the closing sound). Remember to save again when done.
You are finished!
Test it out on doors. It is rare to hear the opening sound unless you are purely opening a door (rather than moving through) or your connection is slow or lagging. Worth it though for the bit of variety it sometimes adds.
