Combat Related Aliases

arg

Definition - alias arg open pack;get bottle from pack;open bottle;sip bottle;close bottle;put bottle in pack;close pack

Notes - Combat related but not for use in combat! If you have retreated from combat injured and you have a bottle of healing water (or something similar) in your pack then you don't want to be fumbling with commands. Just set this one up and type "arg" to heal yourself nice and quick. Try it in combat and your likely to get your bottle broken. I usually try to use slip and palm in aliases for object manipulation but not in this case as the situation where it is needed may also be one where you wish to preserve Guild Points.

ba

Definition - alias ba bury all

Notes - When the combat is over and you've claimed any items you like from the body (if it's an NPC or you are a rather unpleasant Player Killer who loots other players) then it's time to bury. Bury everything with this "ba" alias. Especially handy for warriors who are in the habit of cutting heads off as they have twice as many things to bury. Also handy if you are selling things in a shop and have dropped all items that can't be sold. Burying after combat is very important. Those who don't bury only get half of the XP for the kill. The other half is awarded when you bury the body.

ca

Definition - alias ca consider all

Notes - Before wading into combat it is useful to know whether you are likely to win. This "ca" alias is handy for a quick consideration of all potential opponents at your location. Many players consider it very rude if you consider them. It is sometimes taken as a direct challenge. If a player is present then it may be more polite to type the consider command in full and specify who it is you wish to consider.

calm

Definition - alias calm perform calm on $*$

Notes - If you have learned the calm ritual then this is handy. Typing "calm bear" is quicker than typing "perform calm on bear". You are also less likely to typo it in the heat of battle.

cc

Definition - alias cc condition clothes

Notes - For an assassin or follower of Gapp (guilty on both counts in my case) this is a handy command. There are times in a fight where a blow is struck against an area of your body where you are wearing a particularly stylish item of clothing. All ideas of pain and injury vanish as you worry that something even worse may have occurred. The attack may have damaged your clothing! Using a quick "cc" after setting up this alias will inform you of the extent of the problem. If style is important to you then this alias is essential. Imagine if you spent too long without checking and your trousers fell to pieces in the heat of battle!

ce

Definition - alias ce condition $arg1:all in all&all damaged$

Notes - Contributed by Pythium, this is a lovely alias. It checks the condition of everything you have with you. It even checks items inside other items. It then only informs you of those that are damaged. Thanks go to Pythium for this excellent alias!

clw

Definition - alias clw perform cure light wounds on $*$

Notes - If you have learned the cure light wounds ritual then this is handy. Typing "clw me" is quicker than typing "perform cure light wounds on me". It can just as easily be used on other people who you wish to heal, "clw metatron" for example if you wish to heal Metatron. The ritual uses different skills for healing yourself and healing others so success rates may vary between the two situations. Although possible to use in battle you will normally be hit while performing the ritual so stepping away, healing (multiple times if needed), and stepping back into battle would be a more efficient use of the power.

dosh

Definition - alias dosh get coins from body 1

Notes - If you wish to take all of your dead opponents money then this is for you. The definition specifies "body 1" so that it will still work if you have killed multiple enemies and they are all lying at your feet with jingling purses. Simply bury body 1 and use the alias again to take the money from the next body. This is only a good method of looting a corpse if you wish to travel light as it ignores any other valuable items they may have. Unless you wish to be hated by other players then I would avoid using this on other players that you kill.

god

Definition - alias god say Hat Fish Gufnork Pishe Gapp Sek Sandelfon

Notes - Alignment is an important thing. It shows people what type of person you are, good or evil. It is mainly altered by your choice of victim. Killing evil people makes you more goodly and vice versa. If you are trying to modify your alignment (to keep in line with the views of your God for example) then NPC priests make good targets, so long as you know who they are a priest of. Wandering up and saying "Hat" to them may provoke a response but using this alias is guaranteed to get a response. It will mention the name of a whole string of Gods and the NPC priest won't be able to stop himself from commenting. Once you know his God you know his alignment (same as his Gods) and can decide whether to attack.

Warning - NPC priests are protected by the "God Squad". This group of Paladin like NPCs will rush to their defense in protracted combats. If you are near the temple of the priest you are attacking then this may happen quite swiftly. If you are going to attack a priest then be wary of these consequences.

ha

Definition - alias ha health all

Notes - This will tell you the health levels of everyone at your location. Handy for seeing how a combat is going or checking out somebody that you believe to be injured. Is your friend in need of healing? Use this to find out.

loot

Definition - alias loot wa;open pack;get all from body 1;put all in pack;close pack;bury body 1;wo

Notes - This is the most comprehensive of my looting aliases. It uses the "wa" alias to put your weapon away (see the Weapon Handling Aliases section for alternatives and pick something appropriate) then opens your backpack, takes all of your victims possessions, dumps them in the pack, closes the pack, buries the body and redraws your weapon (again, using another alias "wo"to draw the weapon). Phew! If your not in a town or near a shop then this is stupid. Your encumbrance levels will shoot up using this. The definition specifies "body 1" so that it can be used multiple times if you are surrounded by multiple bodies. Once used, the initial "body 1" has been buried so a new body becomes "body 1". This means that you can just keep reusing it until all bodies are looted and buried.

val

Definition - alias val get coins from body 1; take every jewellery from body 1; open pack; put every jewellery in pack; close pack;ba

Notes - The third looting alias of this section and also my favorite. This one is like the others but just takes all money and jewellery. It is a good compromise. Note that the burying of the body is included using the "ba" alias.
