Combat Display
Is combat hard to follow? Just a jumble of text? On it's default settings it may well be. Check out the aliases section of this site for more on combat tactics but here we're going to concentrate on being able to follow more easily the progress of combat.
- Too much writing to read? I agree. Use the command options output combat = brief to trim out all the unimportant stuff.
- Would you like to be kept informed of your HP, GP and XP throughout the combat? Use the command options combat monitor = on to track these values. If you find this too much (personally I like it) then try "slow" or "snails pace" instead of the word "on" in the previous command example.
- Legal use of triggers can also help by colouring various combat results (triggers are not allowed if they send any output to the MUD and misuse of triggers may result in you being suspended or banned, only use triggers for things that send no output to the MUD at all and have no effect on the actions of your character!). This technique is described in the next section.
