The
aims of the music team are to create an atmosphere through music and
prayer etc, that will encourage people to interact with God intimately,
and that through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, God himself
will interact with His children.
The
praise and worship team are also there to support and encourage other
gifts to operate, such as prophecy, words of knowledge and gifts of
healing whilst creating a platform for the word.
For
this ministry to progress, it is important that each person be in tune
with the Holy Spirit and with each other, as well as realising that it
will take an equal amount of commitment from everyone to take this
ministry forward. I would like to think that within a year, every one in
the worship team will have led praise and worship on a Sunday morning.
The
vision for the team is somewhat of a challenge. To worship God the way He
wants us to? There is a quote from Graham Kendrick that suggests if we
worshipped God like we should, there wouldn’t be any need for
evangelism. The point is that if we loved and worshipped God on earth as
we will love and worship Him in heaven, our worship would be so inspiring
that people could not help but come to where we are.
