According to the 1881 census, Robert T Pidgeon was born in Ireland.  This is why I call this family the Irish Pidgeons, even though all other members of the family were born in England.  Again according to the census, he married Elizabeth Froggatt of Uttoxeter, Staffs.  But neither the marriage or her birth can be traced.  They settled in Stockport;  some of his descendants currently live in Hazel Grove, including John & Dorothy Pidgeon who provided some of the following details.
