PIDGEONS of Powderham & Kenton, Devon

Jasper Pidgeon may be the son of William and Susannah Pidgeon of Stockland, baptised on 13th December 1747.  But when he died in 1811, his age was thought to be only 61 years, so it is not certain that was their son.  Jasper and Elizabeth Bowcher were married in Kenton, but settled in Powderham.  One of their great grandsons moved to Grimsby, Lincolnshire where the family name was changed to Pidgen.

Joseph Pidgeon was also married in Kenton, the year after Jasper was married (see the Pidgeons of Kenton).   Were Jasper and Joseph brothers?

Main contributor:  Basil Pidgeon.  Additional contributions from Teresa Dicks, Dianne Berry, Laura Pidgen and Mandy Ingram.

Notes:     ab. = about,  b. = born,  bp. = baptised,  bu. = buried,  d. = died,  m. = married,  + = extramarital relationship.

                P’ham = Powderham
