Pidgeons were recorded in Hertfordshire in the reign of Henry VIII. Francis Pygeon was baptised at Watford one year after parish records were introduced in England and Wales in 1538.
A number of Pidgeon family trees have been assembled from parish records. One of them forms the roots of the trees of Hatfield and Hertford.
John PIGEON married Esther RICH at Hatfield in 1773. Most of their descendant migrated to Enfield, Edmonton and Walthamstow, all in north London.
Henry PIDGEON and Martha LAWRANCE were married at Bengeo, Hertford in 1787. Their descendants migrated to South Wales and Hastings. Some may have emigrated. |
