Closer CD from David Last
The November 2002 release from David contains 20 tracks which, according to the sleeve notes, include many new tunes as requested by sequence dancers. "New" must be a relative term. If my memory serves, most of these date from the 60s-80s, and there have been many examples of later tunes on CDs by David and others.
The rumbas and jives are slow at 26 and 34 mpm respectively. The mambos sound like jives but at the more common ballroom speed of 42 mpm.
David has gone back to the Ipswich studio and engineer Pat Grueber to record this CD, and there are no Mark Helmore drums like there were on Sway.
