Howard started his broadcast career 58,000 feet high onboard Concorde en route to New York, reporting for BBC Radio 5's RAVE programme
presented by Rob Brydon. He became a BBC Radio Wales Newsreader in 1993. 

1993 he appeared on ITV Blind Date The first and second shows attracted 16 and 17 million viewers. He appeared on Best of Blind Date 1994 and Best of the Last 10 years of Blind Date 1995. 

November 1998 he ran the New York Marathon with Simon Weston OBE reporting for BBC Choice.  He was back in New York 1999 with BBC Wales to cover the launch of the New York “Social Welsh & Sexy Club”. The following month he presented 200 feet beneath the Champagne region of France surrounded by 25 million bottles for BBC Radio Wales. 

Howard reported for BBC Radio 5's The Couch Potato's Guide to Creative Leisure and The Changing Face of Employment.  August 1999 he presented live coverage of The Total Eclipse 10,000 feet above Cornwall for BBC Radio Wales.

He was BBC Wales' live man inside the Millennium Dome Millennium Eve, presenting with Stephen Fry and Heather Small of M people and became a guest presenter on Livetime Granada Television Manchester in 2000. 

2001 – 2003 ITV1 Wales – Twice fronted his own TV travel series, a Music special, a Youth Festival TV special and narrated four series of Inspirations, the popular DIY programme.

2003 – Started fronting BBC Pop Concerts presenting with Bryan Adams, Bill Wyman, Ronan Keating, Emma Bunton, Peter Gabriel, Sugarbabes and Katherine Jenkins.  He presented with Katherine Jenkins live from the Millennium Stadium Tsunami Concert

2003 – 2007 Presented his own live phone-in programme for BBC Radio Wales. 

2005 – 2008 – Presents for Ideal World the TV shopping channel.  Has presented with George Foreman & Ken Hom.

2005 – 2008 – Voiced  7 series of viewers letters on BBC ONE's Points of View formerly with Terry Wogan now Jeremy Vine.

2008 - Howard fronted the Woolite £10 million TV commercial campaign.

Howard is an Event MC and Auctioneer.  He has hosted major BBC Events, Theatre Variety Performances, Corporate and Governmental Conferences, Summits, Fashion Shows and Award Ceremonies. 

He is well suited to Consumer, Travel, Topical, Lifestyle, Leisure, Physical Challenge, and Infotainment style programmes and is a popular voice-over artist.  Howard is a people person with an enthusiastic warmth and a passionate outlook on life.  He relaxes traveling with family and friends and working out in the gym.  Howard’s quote of 2008 is “Don’t just say it, Do it !”
