After
you been for your homeopathic consultation you
may like a reminder of the instructions given for taking
remedies or to look further into topics discussed during
your appointment; to understand more about your treatment.
You
will have been given a prescription after your homeopathic
consultation, and this will often be one single dose of
one remedy in high potency, or it may be several doses in
lower potency of a single remedy.
The
method of finding one single remedy that covers all your
conditions is known as 'classical' homeopathy. It is a powerful
and very deep acting method of using homeopathy which can
resolve difficult health problems and requires great skill. The
more thoroughly the full range of your symptoms can be matched
to a single remedy the more thoroughly it will cure.
The
momentum of the curative reaction from your remedy may continue
for weeks or months, so no new remedies,
therapies or medication should be taken or used that may
interfere with the process before it has finished. Be sure
to ask if you are not sure otherwise you may antidote the
healing process.
It
is quite common for symptoms to change considerably after
a homeopathic remedy as part of the healing process (see
DOC - 'direction of cure') - these changing
symptoms if they occur, should not
be self prescribed for, it will interfere with your
remedy and healing process if you do; so don't self prescribe
if you are undergoing classical homeopathic treatment; if
you have a problem contact me
INSTRUCTIONS
FOR TAKING REMEDIES
Depending on the circumstances you may receive a prescription
to get your remedy from the pharmacy or remedies may be
given during, or immediately after your appointment, or
may be sent later by post. Remedies being sent by post usually
arrive within 2 working days of your appointment, if they
haven't after 3 days please advise immediately.
The
prescription will usually be very simple e.g. one dose of
just one single pill, or one pill three times a day.
However
sometimes it can be more involved - the packets or bottles
may also be labeled with numbers or letters, and will have
instructions on the compliment slip. If instructions aren't
clear phone me and I'll be happy to explain.
-Your remedy may be in liquid or in dry pill form; in a
single dose or as a course of pills
-Stop all previous homeopathic remedies & follow directions
on the bottles or packets exactly.
-Remedy should not be swallowed with water, but should be
held in the mouth for a minute or so, or may be sucked or
chewed. Tablets should be crushed before giving to babies
or very young children
-Take when there is no taste of food etc.in the mouth &
allow 10 minutes or so before eating or drinking (except
water)
-You won't damage remedies by handling them, as long as
your hands are clean and free from things like bleach or
perfume.
-Take only one pill at a time.
-Drops dosage is two drops. Because drops are usually put
directly onto the tongue it can be difficult to get the
exact dosage, so one to three drops is OK. It is not the
quantity but the FREQUENCY that makes the difference with
homeopathy (except for patients prescribed the LM method,
who will have separate instructions).
-Stop the remedy if your condition does not improve or deteriorates
and contact me (also if stopping or starting any other OTC
or allopathic medications).
-
If the patient cannot take remedies by mouth
(e.g.they may feel too nauseous) the remedy can be crushed
between two small spoons and then ground vigorously into
water or preferably alcohol (vodka is best as it doesn't
smell ). A couple of drops of this can then be applied to
the patient's skin, ideally inside of the elbow. This works
just as well as taking the remedy by mouth. Don't be too
concerned about touching the remedy, you won't damage it
as long as your hands are clean and doing this once or twice
won't affect you as your susceptibility will be different
to the patient's. (We do not react to remedies we have no
sensitivity to. Sensitivity is defined by our symptoms)
STORAGE
Keep remedies away from the following:
Excess heat; strong smells, e.g. Olbas oil, Vick's, mint
(toothpaste,chewing gum), eucalyptus oil, etc.
Strong electromagnetic fields, e.g. Hi-Fi speakers, T.V.
, Mobile phones, Microwave cookers, etc.
