What
to expect from classical homeopathic treatment..
In
acute situations the
patient should notice a quick and obvious improvement, usually
within an hour, sometimes in
minutes or even seconds (it can be VERY
fast acting). The majority of people though that visit a
homeopath (in the UK) do so for constitutional rather than
acute treatment, so here
'what to expect' mainly relates to
this situation.
For
any chronic problem, whatever your condition you
should expect an improvement within
a month.
The longest this author has ever had
to wait for an improvement from the right remedy in a patient
is 3 weeks and that is the exception rather than the rule.
It's fair to say that if there's no change after a month
it's the wrong remedy so you would need a new and different
prescription.
However the
greatest percentage of patients I see normally notice a
reaction taking place over a period of one to ten
days. Although acute symptoms may disappear immediately,
the most common scenario for chronic conditions is that
after a constitutionally prescribed remedy a sense of general
well-being ensues, then the symptoms gradually and gently
improve. There is often an increase in going to the loo
as your system detoxes, or even a head cold for the same
reason.
As
the remedy works with your system's natural
health processes you
may find it un-suppresses and energy increases, that
old symptoms return which
may then resolve themselves without even requiring further
remedies now that the system is more likely to be working
properly. Alternatively as healing progresses symptoms
may change from the
more distressing nature or location to those less uncomfortable
ones. This healing process, known as 'direction of cure'
is a phenomenon frequently seen in homeopathy and an excellent
sign that cure is taking place.
