Fund raising activities

We run a variety of fundraising events. Regular events include:

Car boot sales
We hold a car boot sale and indoor market each autumn and spring. It provides an opportunity to clear out all that junk from the loft or garage and turn it into cash. Alternatively, you can come along and browse through the bric-a-brac on offer.

Quiz nights
We run a quiz night during each autumn and summer term. In the autumn term you can test your knowledge of the GCSE syllabus and, in the summer term, you can pit your wits against those of our resident trivia anoraks. Bring your own drinks and snacks.

The annual fireworks extravaganza
Held jointly with the Histon Infant and
Junior Schools close to bonfire night, this features spectacular fireworks display and a hog roast/barbecue

The annual art exhibition

This event is a regular feature of the spring half-term break and features around 400 works by local artists in a wide variety of styles. At the opening evening, visitors can view the exhibits in a relaxed atmosphere that includes complimentary drinks and snacks, and a chance to meet some of the artists.

Midsummer Ball

For the last two years we have joined the University Colleges in the tradition of staging a May Ball in the middle of June. They have been a great success and, if we can find enough helpers, we will stage a bigger and better event for next year.

In the past we have also organised fashion shows, barn dances, ceilidhs and race nights and will do so again if there is the demand. We are also on the look out for ideas for original and enjoyable ways of raising money.
