Jesus is taken down from the
Cross
We adore you oh Christ and we bless you.
Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
Reflection
As Jesus was taken down from the cross after being killed,
He was placed into His mother’s arms where she held him close to her heart, as
she wept in tearful sorrow. The people were still there weeping for Jesus as
all around pain was felt for him.
Prayer
Dear Jesus, we thank You for giving up Your life for us. You
told people not to grieve for You, but still they grieved. You were taken from
the cross after freely accepting your death. We pray that you watch over us and
keep us from harm’s way. Amen
